Big “what if” scenario for discussion.
Since Carrick stepped in, performances have clearly improved — better structure, clearer roles, more compact defensively, and quicker transitions.
So here’s the question:
If Carrick had been appointed five matches earlier…
Where would Manchester United be in the table right now?
Would those dropped points have been wins?
Would momentum have built sooner?
Or is this just a temporary new-manager bounce?
Curious to hear everyone’s honest take.

The bigger question: is this sustainable?
If you assume five earlier games equal better results, you also assume this level continues. We’ve only seen a small sample size. Let’s revisit this after 10–15 matches before rewriting the table.
